Your subscription
- How do I cancel?
- On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Her Scroll. Inside the app, Settings has the same door: “Manage or cancel your subscription”. Cancel at least a day before the renewal date. Deleting the app does not cancel.
- What happens when my free trial ends?
- The yearly plan begins with a 7-day free trial. If you have not cancelled a day before it ends, the first year ($34.99 in the United States) is charged to your Apple Account. The app reminds you before it ends.
- Can I have a refund?
- Purchases are made with Apple, and Apple decides refunds. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- I subscribed, but the app does not show it.
- Open Settings in the app and tap “Restore purchases”. Make sure the iPhone is signed in to the Apple Account you bought with.
- What stays free if I do not subscribe?
- The whole Bible in the text you chose, SOAP study and your journal, your portrait, the cards you have kept, and one card from your feed each day.
Your journal and your data
- Where is what I write kept?
- On your iPhone, and nowhere else. We cannot see it. Privacy explains how.
- How do I move it to a new phone?
- Back up the old iPhone to iCloud or a computer and set up the new one from that backup, or use Apple’s phone-to-phone transfer. Your journal, your kept cards and your portrait come across with everything else.
- How do I erase everything?
- Delete the app. Nothing is left with us, because nothing was ever sent.
Reading
- Which Bibles does it have?
- Six, all free for everyone to use: the Berean Standard Bible, the King James Version and the World English Bible, and for Catholic readers the World English Bible Catholic Edition, the Catholic Public Domain Version and the Douay-Rheims. You can change yours in Settings. More about the texts
- Why is my translation not there?
- Most modern translations are owned by publishers and need a licence. Her Scroll carries only texts that belong to everyone, so that Scripture itself is never something you pay for.
- I am Catholic. What changes?
- Choose one of the three Catholic Bibles and the app adds the traditional prayers, women saints, and cards from the seven books other Bibles leave out. Nobody else is shown them, and nobody is asked her denomination.
- Can I ask for fewer cards on something?
- Yes. “Not today” on a card makes its theme rare for a while, and “More” brings more like it. “How are you right now?” at the top of the feed turns it toward what you need.
- Are the voices real people?
- No. The voices are computer-generated. Every recording is made ahead of time and checked against its text.
- How do I stop the reminder?
- In the app’s Settings. There is one a day at most, and it never mentions days missed.
